I typically would not blog about something like this, but Chris Sligh (who is a worship minister) was voted off American Idol tonight! Now, I didn’t see Tuesday night or Wednesday night, but this is a travesty!
We need an intervention! God, please intervene for us!
I hope this link works! (if it doesn’t, click this http://www.ontariochristian.org/End%20of%20My%20Journey%20Short.mp3 and it will open in your own player) If you have ever seen the movie “Cadence” with Charlie Sheen, then you are more than familiar with this song. This is the song that “Sweetbread” plays and sings during the church service. Sweetbread is played by a man named Harry Stewart who is also the singer/songwriter for “End of My Journey.”
There is a man at church that can hear any music and play it, so I am going to have him start working on it. This song goes through my head for weeks after watching Cadence, and I am sure it will go through yours also!
What songs get into your head? What about Suzanne Vega’s “Tom’s Diner?”
I am sitting in the morning
At the diner on the corner
I am waiting at the counter
For the man to pour the coffee
And he fills it only halfway
That is the one that goes “Do do doo do doo do doo do doo do doo do doo do doo do”
There are some Chris Tomlin songs that get into my head, and the latest one is Mac Powell, Mark Hall, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Brian Litrell’s “By His Wounds” Check it out at http://www.thirdday.com/sitespotlight.htm
I am a Christian, a husband, a dad, and a preacher! In that order!
This blog is just my chance to regurgitate all the stuff that I feel like spouting, and more than likely, I am going to say some of it over and over again!
